Adding ginger beer gives this cocktail a zesty and slightly spicy kick, which pairs beautifully with the bold citrus notes of blood orange gin. This twist on a classic Moscow Mule offers a refreshing and lively flavor profile.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 50ml blood orange-infused gin
- 25ml fresh blood orange juice (approx. half a blood orange)
- 10ml lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 10ml honey syrup (1:1 mix of honey and warm water, cooled)
- 100ml ginger beer (chilled)
- Ice cubes
Garnish
- Thin slice of blood orange
- Crystallized ginger or fresh ginger slice
- Sprig of mint (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the glass: Use a copper mule mug (for tradition) or a highball glass. Fill it with ice to chill.
- Mix the cocktail:
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 50ml blood orange gin, 25ml fresh blood orange juice, 10ml lime juice, and 10ml honey syrup.
- Add a few ice cubes and shake briefly (around 10 seconds) to mix and chill the ingredients.
- Assemble the drink:
- Strain the mixture over fresh ice in your prepared mug or glass.
- Top with 100ml of chilled ginger beer.
- Stir gently: Use a spoon to combine the ingredients without losing too much carbonation from the ginger beer.

- Add a thin slice of blood orange to the rim or float it in the drink.
