The blood orange delivers a vivid burst of citrus, balancing sweetness with a subtle tang, while the long pepper adds layers of spice—earthy, smoky, and slightly floral.

    This combination creates a gin that is both vibrant and deep, with a warmth that lingers and evolves on the palate. Perfect for those who appreciate a gin with character, The Merchants Flame offers a unique balance of refreshing citrus and smouldering spice.

  • Nose: A bright and zesty aroma of fresh blood orange leaps forward, with underlying hints of sweet citrus peel. Subtle floral and woody spices from long pepper add warmth and intrigue.

    Palate: The initial burst of juicy blood orange delivers vibrant, tangy sweetness, balanced by a rich, earthy spice. Layers of warm, smoky heat from the long pepper emerge, complemented by a soft hint of herbal botanicals. The combination creates a perfectly rounded, bold flavour.

    Finish: Long and lingering, with the citrus tapering into a gentle warmth. The spice grows subtly on the palate, leaving a smouldering, slightly peppery afterglow.

    • Angelica Root: Offers an earthy, herbal base that ties the other flavours together and provides a lingering dryness.

    • Orris Root: Acts as a fixative to bind the aromatic notes and add a subtle floral complexity.

    • Cassia Bark: Brings a soft, warming spice that complements the heat of the long pepper.

    • Lemon Peel: Adds a touch of bright acidity to lift the overall flavour.

    • Cardamom: Delivers a subtle pop of aromatic spice, rounding out the gin’s complexity.
